I was actually interviewed last week by a research company trying to figure out how best to get the word out to architects and the public that green building is important.
I'm not sure how they found me - but I obligingly nattered on for nearly an hour, and learned quite a bit about the standards that are emerging. Apparently the research company was engaged by GBI , and they wanted to know how they could better serve me.
The message I got was that perhaps I ought to do a better job of serving myself. I flatter myself thinking that because I keep up with Treehugger, Hugg, etc., I actually know something. Because I'm constantly inventorying my house I have a clue what to do with other people's houses. But have I gotten to actually use one of the checklists stacked on my desk yet? Do I belong to GBI? Have I gotten involved with LEED? Er, not yet.
I think I know what my Christmas reading is, now that my CEUs are handled. (NB: The NCARB monograph idea is terrific. Soon as the cycle restarts, I'm going to order more.)
