This is the best dress I have right now - it's the finest linen, in a color easily obtained in natural dye. The cut is a simple gored rectangular tunic, with deep neck slit. All seams are hand-finished, and the gores are pieced, from narrow yardage. Neckline and cuffs are trimmed with narrow "silk" repp weave trim, again in natural dye colors. I use a Kentish keystone brooch and a mustachioed man button brooch to close the dress, and my belt is appropriately narrow, and uses a bronze buckle. I have glass beads strung between the brooches, and I wear brass cuffs over my sleeves. My necklace is amber, jet and silver (amber goes away by the 7thc), and I have braid wraps (really extensions) in a plaid with natural dye colors. I'm wearing ghillie-type single-piece moccasins, though I also have Hedeby-type boots for winter. I should add a veil and fillet for special occasions, and an overdress for winter/fancy wear.
